Shipping

How Thread arrives — and what happens if anything goes wrong on the way.

Every Thread box is built, printed, and shipped from our studio. Shipping is free on every plan, in every supported region. Here's how it works in plain language.

Where we ship

If you'd like Thread to ship somewhere we don't yet cover, write to us at [email protected]. We add countries based on real demand.

When boxes ship

Your first box is built and shipped within 7–10 days of checkout. We need a few days to print the personalized pieces — the crossword, the recipe cards, the puzzle photo — and to hand-assemble the box.

After the first box, every subsequent box ships on or around the same week of every month. If you subscribed on the 12th, boxes ship around the 8th–12th the next month and every month after.

How long it takes to arrive

You'll receive a tracking email the day the box leaves our studio, with a link that updates as the carrier scans it. You can also enter your order number on our tracking page at any time.

Shipping address vs. billing address

You can ship Thread to a different address from your billing address. This is how most of our customers use Thread — they live in one city, their parent lives in another. Set the recipient's address at checkout. You can update it anytime in your account before the next box ships.

If a box is delayed

Most delays are caused by the carrier, not us. If a box hasn't moved in tracking for more than 5 business days, write to [email protected] with your order number and we'll open a trace. If the carrier confirms the box is lost, we re-ship a duplicate of that month's box at no charge.

If a box arrives damaged

Photograph the damage, email [email protected] within 14 days, and we'll re-ship the affected pieces. You don't have to return the original box.

Pausing or skipping a month

You can pause your subscription for a month or two — or longer — from your account. Pause anytime before that month's box ships (the cutoff is the 1st of each month). Paused boxes simply don't ship and don't charge.
